A Marian Devotional - Edward F. Garesché, S.J.M
This priest loved our Lady so much that he founded a religious order in her honor. Edward F. Garesché was a practicing lawyer, a published poet, a Jesuit priest, and much more besides but most of all, throughout his life he was a son of Mary. So great was his love for her that he even founded Sons of Mary Missionaries, a medical missionary congregation. That's why, when we found his Marian Devotional, we expected great things. We weren't disappointed. Fr. Garesché writes about Mary the way you would write about your mother. She's someone he knows well, loves profoundly, and wants very much for you to know as well. Accordingly, this beautiful little book is perfect for your prayer times, for eucharistic adoration, and for anytime you can take a moment to recall the really important things in life. Each brief chapter brings you to a new realization of the power, the love, and the holiness of Mary and each one concludes with a prayer to our Lady that will bring freshness and vigor to your devotion to her. Fr. Garesché was fond of referring to Mary as the most beloved woman. In A Marian Devotional, he'll show you how you can have the same love for her and rest in her arms as she leads you to her Divine Son.

The simple secret of how you can begin to pray as Mary did. The astonishing breadth of Mary's love for you: you probably don't realize it. Mary's singular freedom from temptation: why it doesn't mean that she can't help you in your own trials. Why you should look to Mary in your successes even more than in your trials. How each of God's gifts to Mary was meant for the entire human race. Are you putting limits on what Mary can do for you? How you can tell. Two reasons why God allows you to be tempted and how Mary can help you overcome all your temptations. How Mary can help you transform your natural affections into supernatural ones. Reading Scripture: Why you must do so if you want to grow in love for Mary. Two all important lessons that the Blessed Mother learned from her Son and that she'll teach you now. The trials of Mary: Why they're proof of her abiding compassion for you. How Mary shows the difference between hearing Jesus and truly knowing Him. How you can imitate Mary's example to grow closer to Jesus today. Plus beautiful prayers and more to help your love for Mary bear marvelous new fruit in your spiritual life.
Fr. Edward F. Garesché (1876-1960) was a practicing lawyer before he entered the Jesuit novitiate. Once ordained, he devoted himself to medical mission work and to writing.
